About the Cabin
What's in the cabin?
Kitchenette, bathroom, lounge area, electric sauna. The basics done well. Full list on the cabin page.
Tell me about the sauna.
Electric sauna, steps from the cabin. Takes about 30 minutes to heat up. Most guests use it every day they're here.
Is digital detox mandatory?
No. We give you a wooden box for your devices. What you do with your phone is up to you. Most people put it away. Most people sleep better.
Electricity and hot water?
Yes. Full electricity (Type F outlets, 230V, 50Hz), hot water, sewage. On-grid.
How secluded is it?
Private forest. No visible neighbours. You might hear a car on a nearby road occasionally, but it's generally very quiet.
Wi-Fi or mobile service?
No Wi-Fi. That's the point. 5G mobile service works if you need it. Bring a travel router if you must.
Can I cook here?
Yes. Electric stovetop, kettle, toaster, coffee maker. No oven or microwave—just what you need.
Wheelchair accessible?
We have a ramp, but there's a 10cm ledge at the entrance. Contact us for specifics.
Can I drink the water?
Yes. Fresh Swedish tap water.
Before You Arrive
What should I pack?
Food and drinks—there are no shops or restaurants nearby. Weather-appropriate clothes (swimwear for summer, warm layers for winter). Your favourite book. Stock up in Söderhamn before arrival.
Best time to visit?
Each season works differently. Summer means long days, swimming, and midnight light. Winter means snow, short days, and the sauna becomes essential. Check SMHI weather before your trip.
What can I do here?
Swim. Hike. Walk. Sauna. Read. Sit still. Pick berries in summer. Watch the snow in winter. Nature's right there.
Can I bring my dog?
Not yet. We love dogs, but keeping it pet-free for now.
Good for kids?
Absolutely. Kids especially benefit from a digital detox. Beach, forest, games—plenty to do.
How many people fit?
Two double beds. Up to 4 guests.
Getting Here
Public transport?
There isn't any to Humlegårdsstrand. We offer station transfers as add-ons, or take a taxi from Söderhamn.
Parking?
Yes. Private parking on property. One-minute walk to the cabin up a small hill.
How far from the station?
15 minutes from Söderhamn.
How do I get to Söderhamn without a car?
Train. SJ runs from Arlanda to Söderhamn. Takes 2-2.5 hours. The cabin is 15 minutes from town.
EV charging?
Not yet. We're planning to install one. For now, charge before you arrive. Nearest public charger is in Söderhamn.
Where exactly is it?
You'll get the exact GPS pin when you book. General location: Humlegårdsstrand, Söderhamn—about 2.5 hours from Arlanda, 15 minutes from town.
Arrival & Departure
Check-in time?
3pm check-in. 11am check-out.
Can I arrive early or leave late?
Yes. Early check-in and late check-out available as add-ons when booking.
How does check-in work?
Self check-in. You'll get the GPS location and access code when you book. At check-out, leave the cabin as you found it.
Booking & Cancellations
Cancellation policy?
We recommend travel insurance. Here's how it works: 28+ days before—full refund, date change, or credit voucher. 14-28 days before—one-time date change or credit voucher. Less than 14 days—no cancellations or changes. If you book within 14 days of check-in, you get a 48-hour cooling-off period.
Can I change my dates?
Yes, if you give us 30 days' notice. Reschedule, get a credit voucher, or refund (small processing fee applies).
Minimum stay?
Two nights. We sometimes allow single nights depending on season and availability (extra charge applies). Ask first.
